Give yourself permission to be bold . . .
Roving is the randomly twisted strands of yarn, usually rolled into a ball, before the finishing processing stages produce ready-to-knit yarn. (See the photo below.) Needle felting utilizing this intriguing yarn has been around for a long time, but only recently has it been applied to knitted garments to give them a unique and special look. Use it to create small three-dimensional figures, or simple embellishments. Scarves can quickly be decorated, as can beautiful sweaters and jackets. One can easily knit a plain garment in basic stockinette, but with some simple felting, that scarf or garment can become something spectacular. Have fun as you practice the techniques, and give yourself permission to be bold and to experiment with a host of feelings, colors, textures and designs.
